Module 6: Global Technology Transfer and Communication

Overview

This module provides essential knowledge and hands-on skills for managing international technology transfer through effective communication and intercultural competence. As innovation becomes increasingly global, success depends not only on the technological idea but also on the ability to communicate it persuasively across cultures and organizational boundaries.

Participants will learn how to tailor presentations to international business audiences, align messaging with cultural expectations, and navigate the complexities of cross-border communication. Practical tools, including persuasive presentation techniques and intercultural communication frameworks, are delivered within the IMLead® Heptathlon Concept for integrated international leadership.

Core questions addressed include:
• How can technology and innovation be presented credibly across cultural boundaries?
• What are the main communication barriers in international collaboration?
• How do cultural differences influence negotiation and trust-building in tech transfer?
• What are the best practices in virtual and face-to-face communication globally?

The module also covers the key principles of German business presentation culture, audience analysis, rhetorical structure, nonverbal communication, and how to handle intercultural conflicts with respect and clarity.

Participants will engage with:
• Tools for crafting persuasive business presentations
• Techniques for analyzing audiences in diverse cultural contexts
• Case studies on intercultural misunderstandings and how to prevent them
• Strategies to adapt content and style for different cultural expectations
• Frameworks such as Hofstede’s dimensions, the TOPOI model, and Haller’s communication behavior types

By the end of this module, learners will be able to confidently lead international negotiations and manage global partnerships in technology-intensive industries through precise, culturally aware, and goal-oriented communication.
